Cabaret Fundraiser Concert!

  • Camp Menesetung 82190 Church Camp Rd. GODERICH Canada (map)

Join us at Goderich District Collegiate Institute on Sunday, March 23rd at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm) for our annual by-donation fundraiser concert! This year’s variety show features nearly a dozen amazing musicians performing sets from a range of genres, a buffet of goodies to enjoy while you listen, and a celebration of longtime director’s Clayton & Mary who have passed the torch after over 10 years.

Drop-In, no tickets required.

What are we raising money for?
Camp Menesetung is a registered charity overnight camp that strives to continue to improve our programs and facilities without placing the cost burden on our camper families. This year we are raising funds towards the replacement of our Walk-In Cooler that gave up the ghost last summer. A much needed improvement that requires specialized equipment and professional installation to the tune of over $15,000.

Donations can be made by cash, e-transfer (to treasurer@campmenesetung.ca), cheque made out to Camp Menesetung, or online via credit card HERE.

Who are the performers?

Clayton Peters (Camp Alumni) & Devon Roulston: Professionally trained percussionists who met in music school, Clayton & Devon are excited to bring energetic percussion duets to the stage!

Mary Ross (Camp Alumni): As an accomplished performer on both the Celtic Harp and the Concert Harp, we are in for a treat. Mary will be playing some beautiful solos… and maybe a few duets!

ShariAnn Kuiper (Camp Alumni & Board Member), Maarten Bokhout (Camp Board Member), & Friends: This feelgood group of excellent string players (Violin, Viola, Cello & more) are taking us to the world of folk & celtic music that is sure to make you smile get your feet tapping!

William McMurchy (Camp Alumni) & Graham Howard (Camp Alumni): These recent and current camp staff have serious skills! William is a wizard on the piano, and Graham a technician on the drums. These two bring a mix of camp energy to the stage!

Liz Coates (Camp Alumni), Dan McGibney, & Alex Mitchell: This past November these 3 amazing actors & singers put on a run of performances of the ‘Pirates of Penzance’ for the Kincardine Theatre Guild. We are extremely fortunate that they will be joining us to perform a few of our favourite songs for the show with live accompaniment!

What’s the deal with celebrating Clayton & Mary?

Camp is filled with wonderful people who give their time and talent to make camp what it is today, many of them behind the scenes and deserving of more credit! This event allows us an opportunity to honour two of them.

While Mary first started working at Menesetung in 2010 (and had been a camper since the late 1990s!), in 2016 Clayton & Mary accepted the role of Co-Directors and undertook the task of figuring out how to run a camp and move us forward through many changes and challenges. Summer 2024 was Clayton’s final summer as our Executive Director with Sean O’Leary taking his place leading Menesetung into our next chapter. Come celebrate with us!

While we won’t see Clayton, Mary, and Slightly (their adorable Golden Doodle) quite as often at camp going forward, we don’t think we’ve seen the last of them!

See you there! Invite a friend!
